After a long wait, we are excited to announce we will be holding our 2nd Annual Redding Venture Conference on 8 April 2022.

The event will aim to inspire and prepare investors for Business Without Boundaries. Investing has been turned on its head by the global pandemic, blockchain, remote work and many disruptive forces moving upon just about every industry. There are risks, but many limitations have been removed, opening up huge opportunities for founders, investors and cities. For the first Redding Venture Conference, we saw over 25 companies compete for a chance to win a $10,000 prize! 6 companies made it to the conference with Rente' taking home the $10,000 Prize. Rente' has gone on to be accepted to 4 Incubators across the United States, and attended their first program in Spring of 2020. Shasta Angels additionally invested in Wag by Authentic Sales with a $350,000 Investment and Turbans for Tot's with a $50,000 Investment.

Keynote Speaker: Ali Tamaseb

Ali Tamaseb is a partner at DCVC, a Silicon Valley VC fund with over $2.5 billion under management. The investments Tamaseb led on behalf of DCVC has generated an enterprise value of over $6 billion and the companies he sits on as a board director employ over 3,000 people.

Tamaseb studied Electrical Engineering at University of Tehran, Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London, and general management at Stanford Graduate School of Business and he was an honoree of the British Alumni Award of 2018 by the British Council, and was the recipient of Imperial College President’s Medal for Outstanding Achievement.

Tamaseb has 7 publications, including two books and five academic papers, holds several patents, and has won medals in national and international Physics and Computing Olympiads. Ali’s latest book “Super Founders: What Data Reveals about Billion-Dollar Startups” became the #1 bestselling Venture Capital and Startup book, is published in over 50 countries and is being translated into over 10 languages.

Ali and his work have been featured in the WSJ, BBC, Fortune, Guardian, The Telegraph, and Forbes among others and he has given keynote talks at major events and conferences.

Fireside Chat with Sondre Rasch , Y Combinator Alumni and Founder of Safety Wing

Sondre is the co-founder and CEO of SafetyWing. With a background in economics and computer science, he was a policy advisor for the government of Norway before he created SuperSide (YC W16), a platform for freelance designers. It was here he discovered the lack of a safety net for online remote workers. SafetyWing was founded with the aim of building a global social safety net for nomads and remote companies worldwide. He is also the host of the Building Remotely podcast, a guide on how to build and scale a remote company.

He also holds multiple board seats and has placed capital in multiple start-ups through his private equity fund Level Up Capital LLC. Previous he was a Partner and SVP at Security One Lending Inc. at one time America’s largest Reverse Mortgage Bank (Sold to WIMC in Dec 2012).

Local startup success, Garrett Viggers, founded Limelight health in 2014. As one of the first investments the Shasta Angels made, Garrett successfully exited when Limelight was acquired by FINEOS in 2020 for $75M. He now is an active member of the Shasta Angels and continues to serve as the Chief Evangelist & Bard at FINEOS.
